2001 Passat is gone...Hello 2005 4Runner!

Finally pulled the trigger tonight on a new SR5 V6 4X4 with 3rd row seats, 17" alloys, roof rack, rear spoiler, stone cloth and floor mats. A fairly base model 4Runner.

I loved it. Great gas mileage, pretty fast, excellent paint and interior. Lot of bang for the buck. I was sorry to see it go.

But I can't wait to drive my 4Runner up into the mountains.

Similar to your experience, I had a 2000 4Runner that I sold to purchase a Passat. I drove the Passat for about two years and have now gone back to a 4Runner. The Passat was a nice change and I agree that it is a great car for the money (love the interior), but I am extremely happy with my 04 4Runner. Welcome to the board!!

I traded in a 2000 passat on my T4R and haven't looked back! Although the interior refinement of the VW exceeded that of the 4Runner, I think you will enjoy the reliability (My VW went through 3 clutches in 50,000 miles) and ride characteristics of your new T4R.

Nice houses but nothing really spectacular. An average home in my neighborhood is about 2500-3500 sq ft and costs around $190,000. In Seattle area you would pay $350-$400,000 for the same house with a much smaller lot!!!

I can't even imagine what California is like.

I'd expect a 2500-3500 sq ft house to cost more than $350k - $400k in most areas of King and Pierce county. But then again, Bellevue and Mercer Island are in their own price category.. I could see prices around that range though, a little further from the peninsula..

Brand new sub in my area in 2,500 sq feet would run $550,000-$900k and 3,500 would run over $600k-right over $1mil!

$190k? Oh my Gawd, I've got to move over there......I bought my new house at 1,817 sq feet in Dec 03 for $350K! The same model around the street is re-selling for $485K with a smaller lot.....

BTW my county owns its own dam, so electricity is about $70 every two months and I run EVERYTHING off of electricity. No gas.
