2001 SR5 4WD OEM Toyota rear spring part number problem

I have a 2001 SR5 4WD with stock 16" wheels that I am replacing the rear springs with OEM Toyota parts. I looked up the part number and saw three different numbers.
48231-35200 SPRING, RIGHT
4WD, 15 WHEEL
48231-35250 SPRING, RIGHT
4WD, 16 WHEEL
48231-35190 SPRING, RIGHT
2WD
I assumed that 48231-35250 would be the one I needed, but the parts guy said I needed 48231-35200 which is for the ones with OEM 15" wheels. He said the 16" wheel part number was not for my 4Runner.
Any Toyota parts people out there that can make sense of this?
Any one ran into this before?

A lot of 4Runners were built with 15" wheels, and had the larger ones added at the port along with beefier brakes and springs.(mine included.) So if the dufus just runs the VIN, he thinks you need the lighter springs.

Look at the tire pressure label on the driver door frame. If it's like mine, it only lists 15-inch tires and rims. Yet I bought it new with 16s including the famous '99 "tall" springs and larger brakes. That means port added. I'm sure your dealer would try to sell me the wrong springs, too.

I am in the same boat, 2002 Sport w/16's and here is the dealers suggestion
for rear coils per the Vin#. My door info also confirms 15 inch tires? I wonder if this is just a baseline model info note? Does anyone have a different spec on their door frame for tire size?

I was lucky enough to have been advised by Mtbtim of the DIY maintenance
articles and explanations for the better choice of coils for my needs. I was also advised of my mistake of noticing a slight difference in stock number by a member " Beklemmung ", he saved me from a dyslexic mistake!

Unless you have the original window sticker from when the T4R was purchased new, I don't think you can know for certain how exactly the truck was sold. I'm fortunate that I have the red and white window sticker from when the truck was sold to the original owner, and on the right side, it has a list of optional equipment. One of the packages is "Preferred Equipment #1", which added $2,750 to the starting price, and included 16" wheel with P265/70 tires, chrome wheel arch molding, 12.5" front disc brakes (I assume these are the "larger" brakes that TheDurk mentioned), power windows and antenna, and a few other things.

(If I'm wrong about this, hopefully others will correct me. I'm very much a novice when it comes to T4R, and vehicles in general.)

My door jam has the Toyota sticker listing air pressure and size for 15" tires. On my door is a sticker with the 16" tire info, that always made me wonder. Do you think Toyota was selling more 4Runners with the 16" wheels and flares than the factory could furnish?

My 2002 SR5 (with color matched flares) also has the door jam sticker with 15" wheels/tires listed, while the truck has 16" wheels. It seems highly improbable to me, however, that the port is really installing such labor intensive things as brake and shock/spring upgrades. I can see wheel/tire packages and body parts though.

In fact, looking up my build on Toyota's owners site, states the following:
