my key won't turn sometimes then after a delay it will turn. what is amiss? should I replace ignition lock. If so what is a reasonable ball park for the job? It is a 4x4 limited :sobbing:

Your key may be getting too worn down to press the tumblers inside the ignition switch all the way in. Try moving the key in and out a few times and if that helps it's probably just a worn key. If so, you'll need to go to the dealer to get a new fresh key (making a copy of a worn key won't help).

Sometimes my steering wheel locks in place and I have to turn it and put pressure to one side to get the key to turn so it could just be that.

It could be the ignition switch itself, but I would look at the other cheaper possibilities 1st.

Just go to the dealer and have them make a new key only cost $15 when I did mine for my door locks. also make sure you bring the DMV registration for proof they will ask for it.

$15 key? Not for the keys with a chip that has to be programmed to the car.. More like most of a $100 bill..
