2002 4Runner purchase advice

I am looking at a 02 4Runner 4wd. It is extremely clean with 99K miles. Asking 12K. The front right corner seems a little lower than the rest of the vehicle and the trans fluid is brown. Are this major red flags? Everything else looks like new. I have read the new buyer section. Would appreciate any input about what else to look for or double check.

12K is VERY steep for a 3rd gen. At the price you should look into a new 4th gen with less miles.

I would keep looking. It doesn't look like the TB and WP have been done (don't see a sticker on the shroud under the hood), so that is about 600 that you will need to spend right when you get the truck. I would find something less expensive, with more miles that has a maintenance history.

Looks like the sticker is right on the timing belt cover? just can't see it well enough to read it. Regardless, OP: wayyyy too much money for that. Pass. Brown tranny fluid? PASS!!

Just parroting everything already said; the only way that transmission fluid should be brown is if it's a manual transmission.

Usually the timing belt sticker goes on the passenger side of the timing belt cover
