2002 Black Sport Limited 4x4 4Runner, rear diff lock, $20k OBO

This is not my rig. I found the 4Runner for the current owner in 2016. Before 2016 this 4Runner was living in Florida. When I found it the mileage was 101,000. This 4Runner is owned by a friend. He had every little thing it could have needed taken care of whenever it needed it. Right down to installing a new OEM power antenna and a digital clock. It does not need a thing except a new owner.

That thing sure is clean! Just so you know, that's not a rear diff lock, that's a center diff lock which is very different. Rear diff locks were only offered 1996-2000. Please don't take this the wrong way. Good luck with the sale!

I wouldn't know. I haven't owned a 3rd gen but I own a Tacoma with a rear diff lock and a 4th gen 4Runner V8 with a center diff lock. Also owned a 1993 Land Cruiser with the center diff lock. I owned a 1992 4Runner SR5. Nothing in that in terms of locks. The only time I ever needed anything other than low range 4WD was in the Land Cruiser. And only on a few occasions. They all were or are very capable in normal 4WD Hi and Low.

It really is nice. I did the detail on it and took all the photos. Inside, out and underneath. I have seen every square inch of it. It is solid. The owner has kept it maintained at a shop specializing in Toyota/Lexus and any little thing that comes up gets taken care of right away.

Not that it really matters but this appears to be an SR5 and not a Limited as I’m fairly certain Sport Package was only offered on SR5 and not Limited trim.
Either way it certainly is a gem and a beautiful one at that.

That's interesting Sarki. The seller, in 2016, told me it was a Limited Sport Edition or Sport Limited. I remember reading something about it back then and thought there was something special about the trim in 2001 and 2002 only. However; I cannot find that info now and the side badges do say Sport Edition. The vehicle has leather, like a Limited, so I just took the seller at his word in 2016. My original photos from 2016 do not have a good shot of the tailgate badges. The current owner had the badges removed since the gold overlay was peeling. You are probably correct in that it is an SR5 Sport Edition with leather added as an option or something like that. I have seen a few others like it over the years. But they seem to be rare. I prefer cloth myself. Cloth always seems to hold up better for me and is more comfortable in Toyota vehicles I have owned.

Yep, my guess would be leather seats done by dealer as cloth seats were what came with the sport package on the SR5’s and the Sport Edition package was offered on SR5 models and not Limited.
But, she’s a real beauty either way.
