Hi all, I just purchased an 02 SR5 4WD with 117K miles, from the orig owner a few days ago. The 4Runner will spend a lot of time traveling in Baja so IM trying to make some good choices to make it as bullet proof and reliable as possible. After reading through the forum I noticed people disabling the traction control, I did this yesterday and now I have the two traction control lights that stay on all the time on my dash, is this normal? If so I will remove the bulbs or do something to get rid of those dash lights. Any advice would be great. Here is what I have done to the 4Runner so far.
1. 5100,s all the way around giving it about 2 1/2 inch lift with spacers in the rear
2. Upper Control arms
3. New radiator, the original one was still in the rig and it was showing signs of corrosion in the over fill, fortunately no pink milkshake but I think it was coming soon
4. Seperate tranny cooler
5. Flushed cooling system and transmission
6. Fresh set of 265/75/16's K02's
7. Removed factory running boards.
8. Timing belt, water pump, thermostat and belts done 15k miles ago.
Any suggestions on any other maintenance items or improvements would be appreciated! It will not be crawling but it will on lots of single track roads, wash board roads, water crossings here and there ect...
