2003+ 4Runner electrical question

I was wondering if anybody experienced any electrical problems on their 4Runner yet since the newer 4Runners have a lot more electrical stuff in them than most older Toyotas. I have noticed that sometimes the air recirculating button on our 4Runner is lit right after the truck is started. It does it even when the auto temp. option is off. I was wondering if this is normal or not. (its an 05 V8 if that helps)

I have not had any eletrical problems with my 4Runner. The re-circulate goes on whether you have the system set on auto or not. When you have it set on a low (cold) setting, it tends to do this more often. If you set the temp at LO, it will always be on recirculate when you start the truck. I don't like this feature but this is the system is supposed to do.

When you have it in auto mode and the temperature differential between desired temperature and outrside is over ~15 degrees, recirculate is turned on automatically. It's been discussed before on the board, so a search will lead you to the prior discussion.

yea, the system sense the cabin temperature and the outside temperature and automatically set it to whichever recirculating is the coolest to drew in air to cool the cabin faster depending on what you have the temperature set at. That's what those little slit on the bottom on the left on the cup holder is on the driver side is. It has a temp. sensor and a vacuum hose in their.
