2003 4Runner SR5.. trying to fix it up

Hi guys,

I have visited this forum many times before finally deciding to join it. My first attempts to join failed when the forum wasn't taking any new members. So, finally, I am here. I came back from college recently to find my 2003 Toyota 4Runner a wreck! Parts of the hood are rusting... all this will be taken care of with a friend I know that does body work.

There are other things I do need help with though, and I thought this was the perfect place to go:

It seems I have an electrical problem that affects the FOB remote, dash instruments, map and dome lights, and clock memory. None of these function. I sent it to Toyota to see if they can fix the problem. They said it was "wiring." After two days of it being fixed, the problem came back. I would like to know if anyone can help me out with this.

Also, there is a lot of sun damage to the dash. Cracks everywhere. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Last thing: I need a new radio. Anything I can do for a nice looking upgrade? Perhaps one with navigation? Will the navigation featured radio fit in the radio slot?

I would appreciate all the help I can get as I am trying to make my car as good as new. Especially since my girlfriend does not stop complaining about how gross my car is haha.

Thanks.
