Hi all,
I have 2003 4runner V8 4WD sport edition with 129,000 miles. Yesterday morning I noticed something different with the car. I was going around 30mph until I had to brake to slow down to around 20mph. But then when I accelerated I felt the car did not accelerate only the engine roaming and about 2 seconds later the car moved forward with jerking abrupt like jumping movement with thud sound.
I was concern about that random sudden jerking movement as I could have hit the car in front of me. But I thought this happened maybe because of the cold winter temperature in NYC.
So today It happened again and now after the jerking jumping when I start to accelerate, all the lights of check engine, VSC track off, VSC Check are lit-up.
The car runs normal and the jerking seems not as worse and less as before all the lights are lit-up.
This never happened before. I never do any off road and towing.
Does this ever happen to anyone of you? What causes this and how to fix it.
