NICE!! My girlfriend just purchased an 03' black 4runner limited last night and her one fear was it looking like a soccer moms car and im currently printing out pictures of your 4runner to show her it could be immpossible.

Yeah! You're right! I had that same idea when I first looked at the new generation 4Runners. Upon looking at it the first time in the dealership I already had a vision of how I want mine to be made for the off-road. As you can see in the pictures, this is it!
It's definitely not for hauling kids to soccer games or for groceries.
The last thing I want is to turn it into one.
 
haha yea man i feel ya, she thought she was getting a 3rd gen so she went ahead and dropped 3 g's on some black 22's and their mounted and ready with no 4runner, so im hoping since she got the black 03' last night that the 22's will fit on this one. Shes gone now to get them mounted up on the 4runner. I think with just the 22s and blacked out windows she'll have shed the soccer mom look.
 
Aw yes, fiesta island. You almost had me fooled there with the license plate. I can almost see the house I use to live at in the background. ;-)
 
Do you have a little lift or leveling kit on there ? The stance looks a little different than a normal 4th gen. Looks level or close to it .


The rims must be 8" ? They sure make a diff in looks

Show some pics when you get the chance. I think that it would look really awesome on your g/f's 4Runner. It'll be more fiercesome than mine. Mine looks like a toad...haha...that's the nickname my friends have given my rig. Silver toad in fact..haha.

With oversize wheels it just enhanced the trendy mommy-mall crawler look. Most new SUVs already come stock with the trendy big wheel look ala Hummers and Escalades.

flipjin,love the truck but carbon or tinted tails would look classier since the too-much-chrome on the tails looks out of place from the rest of your truck.

naw her's looks soo freakin bad ass its not funny, shes working on a all black theme with black wheels, today i bought her the black housed headlights and im trying to decide about the tailights, im thinking ill just try some of that VHT tint.

But this 4runner is so far from mommy mall crawler its not even funny, ill see if i cant snap some pictures tomorow. Were headed back to toyota to show them the 22's and to get a # of a guy who apparently can get 22's for me for under $1800:biggrin2:
 
Looking good. The more I see the cladding 4Runners, the more I like it. I wasn't fond of them when the 4th gen first came out.
 
I think I'd like it more if it didn't have so many ricer-esque stickers and badges. I think just the TRD Off-Road on the doors and the TOYOTA in the grille would suffice...

Is this beauty only skin deep? Or engine deep?

You're right. One guy in Youtube commented on the same thing about the video I did of my 4Runner. He's the reason I went with the TRD Off Road decal striping running along the bottom of the doors. It looks subliminal and doesn't stick out. One guy who also suggested I alter the look with decals actually designed and made it for me. The results are obviously on the pictures.
I plan on debadging the whole thing. I can't legally remove the make and model on the tailgate because cops need to identify the vehicle. But what cop wouldn't know what kind of a vehicle they are looking at. Either way, I would like to put Hilux Surf badges instead to confuse the cops...joke.
I have to get rid of the V8 inside sticker and actually put a Toyota V8 emblem on it.
I do appreciate the kind comments. Any more would be greatly appreciated a whole lot. There are more engine mods I have planned.
