2003 AC Problem

My A/C blows cold on the 2 passenger side vents and warm on the Driver side. I don't have dual climate controls. Don't even know if this was an opition. Well, I changed the Magnetic Relay fuse in the engine and cleaned the in-cabin air filter. Any other options?

it could be a number of things, stuck or broken vent door, bad actuator, low freon, etc. check some of these threads, u may find one that can help. Toyota - 4Runner . org Forum - Search Results goodluck

I don't think it's low Feron because it blows cold on right side vents, but the left side is warm. The rear vents blow cold also.

it may be a stuck or broken door or actuator, yea, i see that link didnt work , just do a forum search for ac problems, ac blows hot air one side, etc. & u'll see a bunch of threads on it. goodluck

evaporator

I have the exact same problem. My car is a 03 4runner DIESEL (stock).
been driving for a while leaning towards passenger side to get some air.

My first try about 6mnths ago, i filled it with AC gas. fixed the problem. now with same problem, dealer told me the evaporator is broken.

apparently the evaporator has 2 sections. 1 for drivers side, 1 for pax side and rear.

according to my dealer, i need to replace this part.
on my island it will cost me about 1700us$

I saw in Miami, an aftermarket replacement for $175
Guess next time i go miami, im getting one of those for testing purposes.

It seems like a have a internal A/C leak as well. Could well be the evaporator.
Are there any write-ups or DIY for this kind of job???
What would an indy typically charge for this kind of job in the US?
