2003 grey cladding on Sport Edition

For those with grey cladding on the Sport. Is there a product that brings the dullness back? I've tried back to black, trim shine, and waxing. Nothing seems to help. Any ideas?

Baby oil seemed to work for my detail department at my old dealership, it was more of a temporary thing than long-term; but it did make the plastic look new.

You might want to look at "Plastic Restorers" vs. shining products, ect.

I have been using Shine Supply products on mine for a couple of years.

I use Trim Shield and Trim Shine. I use Trim Shield 3 or 4 times a year since it lasts longer. I use the Trim Shine about every other wash as kind of a refresher for the Trim Shield.

I replaced a couple of panels on my truck. The panels I bought were used and hadn't been treated with anything so they looked dry and had some tiger striping going on. You can see what they looked like before and after the Shine Supply treatment.

Wash with dawn dish soap. At auto zone they have a new tire shine that's in a rattle can like clear coat, comes in black and clear. Get the black and tape it off and enjoy, it lasts a long time I've used it on tires takes a long time to wash off

Alot of Volvo guys use "forever black" its a dye so it lasts for a long time.
Black dye looks better than grey imo

There was something "seen on TV" that restored it back to brand new might want to googling that.

Use Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Made mine look brand new. I apply Aerospace 303 3 to 4 times a year and after two years since the Magic Eraser treatment still looks brand new.

Eastwood has a plastic paint. I used it and had a little trouble but it looks great.

Heat Gun

I saw this a while back and always wanted to see if it worked. But i don't have a car with plastic panels to try it on. Might be worth doing on a test area.

Wipe New hands down. All that other stuff is a coating. Wipe New is almost like a chemical reaction that re-lays the surface of the plastic.

Keep in mind after being rear ended I discovered that those rear panels were not OEM, meaning it had previously been rear ended. My point being it had an even better effect on the OEM panels that weren't faded out so badly. And to be fair, here we are over a year later and it is beginning to look a bit faded again. I would reapply it if I could find the time to actually do it.

The heat gun trick works. I did mine about 2 months ago and I was surprised. After you hit it with the heat gun, just keep it up with back to black or whatever you want.

Turtle Wax Trim Restorer is 65-75% petroleum distillates. I would stay away from any product, tire shine too, containing petroleum distillates. They will remove the plasticizers in the plastic. This weakens it and make it more brittle.
