2003 Head Unit

So I have a 2003 SR5 V6 and I use a cassette adapter to play my iphone through the car stereo. When the head unit (specifically) is cold, it continuously rejects the cassette. Anyone else have this issue or know what causes it? Thinking of replacing the head unit with a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH in the summer cuz it's driving me up the wall in the mornings.
