The biggest problem is getting those panels off. When I bought my 03, the panels were recently painted (same color gray as original), but they were not removed to repaint them. The panel on the driver's door was loose and I recently went to take it off to see if I could fix the problem.
Problem #1 - There's two different parts diagrams for the 03 door moulding and neither seems to correspond to the one we have. I think this model, with the beefy-looking mouldings, was only produced for 3/4ths of a year at the most.
Problem #2 - The plastic clips tend to break when the door panel is removed. The panel-facing part of the clip breaks, and I couldn't figure out how to get the clip off of the door to put new ones on, so I ended up pushing them through the door and taking off the inner door panel and pulling them out.
Problem #3 - Related to problem #1, is which clips are needed to put it back without it rattling. I am pretty sure it's blue, based on how it fit, but this doesn't match what either parts diagram indicates. In any case, orange doesn't fit (even though it's on the parts diagrams), the door-side pin is waaaay too big.
Problem #4 - How to remove bottom section. Couldn't figure this out, could only get top of door moulding off. The bottom is what is rattling on mine and I've had no success in fixing it. I'd love some ideas here.
Problem #5, if you need to remove fender trim: It's pop-riveted on and has to be carefully drilled out and then re-riveted back, afterwards.
