Hey everyone. I have been looking at my local Craigslist (Pacific NW) for cars after selling my 1997 Tahoe. I know my basic way around Chevrolet trucks and can do basic/intermediate repairs and whatnot. My mom drives a 2004 Sienna LE that we bought new so I am used to the brand but I wouldn't dare attempt to do advanced repairs on a Toyota. Here is what I found:
"2003 Silver Sport edition 4Runner 4x4 - clean title - no accidents -
200k miles
one owner - cloth seats
factory radio
excellent tread on one year old tires (all 4)
good brakes two and a half years old (from toyota)
very recent oil change
all service records dating back to 2003
one year old catalytic converters"
$7500 or best offer. ( I dont want to spend more than $6800)
What I am wondering is what I should be looking for if I decide to go look at the vehicle. I've read things about shaky moonroofs, slow windows, sulfur smells, etc. 200k miles also scares me a bit when it comes to the transmission, but I know Toyotas are pretty solid in general. I also know resell is generally pretty good and if I do happen to buy it I would not be putting more than another 30k miles on it.
I only got limited pictures but the body seems to be in pretty good shape, and the interior is not is bad shape.
Thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated!
