2003 Toyota Fog / Driving Lights From Toyota

I have some good news and some bad.

Here's what I got.

Good News They do have fog lights available.

Bad news is the price.

Here's the break down.

Left Lamp & Bulb $360
Right Lamp & Bulb $360
New Headlight switch (Which the steering wheel needs to be taken off to be put in) $73

so we have a total of : $793.00 for the setup from www.atlantatoyota.com

Chris over at ATL toyota said that there is going to be a kit in the next few months that might be cheaper that includes all above except a toggle switch instead of a new headlight switch/arm.

Also I have contacted TRD for the reusable air filter. they are looking into making one. Another company called Green filters from the UK said that they can custom make one all they need is the dimensions. Then there's K&N which say that they are making one but need a test vehicle to make sure it works. So if theres anyone in Cali, that wants a free filter contact them asap.

By the way, the distributor that covers Arkansas is Gulf States.

I would be very interested in the kit you mention, because a toggle switch would allow us to keep the fog lights on while the high beams are on.

Any new sources?

Anyone found any other sources for Foglights yet? I'm in the same pickle (SR5, no fogs), but $800 seems a bit pricey.

First, check to see if your 4Runner is prewired for fog lights. Not all SR5's are -- if it is, there should be an unused connector off the parking light wiring harness.

If you have it, then you can get the lenses off of eBay for about $100 a pair. then you need to get the relay and new stalk for the turn switch.

If your rig is not prewired (like mine), then the wiring harness from Toyota is about $1,400 :eek2: -- and that's not a typo!!

I'm just going to wait until there are more out there, then call the junkyards to see if they have one I can get the harness from. If they are not broken, maybe could get the lenses from them, too.

Interesting that the rep for a Toyota dealership says they aren't very good fog lights anyway. He suggested PIAA instead; I e-mailed them, and they recommended the 1500 and 2100.
