2004 4Runner Speedometer doesn't work

I'm a new member at this forum. If anyone
could tell me what's the best thing to solve my 2004 4Runner issue. My speedometer just stop working 3 days ago, but the rest of the gauges works. I checked with my local dealership and it's going to cost around $800.00 parts and labor. I was told that they're going to replace the combination meter circuit board. I'm not sure what it is and I've search online couldn't find it. I checked at partz.net and the closest thing I could find is the instrument cluster and the prize is close also. Could anyone tell me if the instrument cluster is the one I need to replace? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. After reading the link, I decided to just order a new instrument cluster and have my local dealer install them.
