2004 4runner sport 4wd maintenance do it yourself question

newbie question here.... the 4runner has 62000 miles and just had an oil change........

what other things should and could I do, I can read and follow directions........LOL and can use a wrench....

any help would be greatly appreciated... would love for this truck to last 200,00 miles... brakes, lube, fluids, ZERKS(not sure what that is or if I have them) and timing belt and ETC....

In case you don't have a copy of the Scheduled Maintenance Guide, it's available on Toyota's Web site:

Dealers will push a lot of services above and beyond what's on the schedule, and most (if not all) are not necessary. Just stick to the guide.

I just did mine and did oil change, trans service, coolant service, spark plugs and diff service.

I would highly recommend changing the rear differential fluid. I just changed it on my T4R with 50K miles and it was in a pretty bad shape. I checked the front diff and the fluid looked brand new so I didn't change it. I also changed the transfer case fluid although it was in a pretty good shape and I probably didn't need to change it but I did because I wanted synthethic gear oil in there. Also if you have a V6 change the spark plugs. And don't forget to grease the drive shafts.

I actually printed out and used the above DIY guide to change the diff and transfer case fluid with Lucas Synthetic. That guide saved my life!
