2004 4Runner SR5 Brake Modulation/Pulsing

Hello - I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping someone can point to any info on the brake issue I'm having. The issue is with applying the brakes, and the erratic modulation I feel when pressing the brakes at speeds under 40mph. I've sensed the pulsing/irregular modulation above these speeds, but not as bad when slowing from around 40mph. For example, when coming to a stop, the brakes seem to bite then ease off, then bite again. I had the rotors turned, which seemed to resolve the issue, but a few weeks later, the issue is back. Any info is appreciated!

Sounds like a rotor issue to me. Why not buy new rotors and call it a day? BTW, it's always a good idea to properly bed the pads/rotors whenever you install new brake parts or even after you cut the old rotors. Proper bedding should eliminate any potential braking system problems.

I agree with Jed, turning rotors will only allow them to warp quicker next time. Buy new ones with good thickness. Also must change pads when you do this, ****ty pads will cause ****ty rotors.

The first step in solving a problem is to understand the problem.

Turning rotors will have almost absolutely no effect on "warp" simply because brake rotors (almost) never warp in the first place.
