2004 4th gen brake help in Arvada CO

I’m located in Arvada, Colo and I’m asking for mechanical hands-on help.

Apparently I have a stuck piston on the front passenger side my 2004 4th gen T4R brake caliper. I haven’t replaced brakes in 30+ years. I was wondering if there is anyone near Arvada that has the know how and the tools to help me/teach me how to replace the caliper. I can get the parts and would be happy to supply the garage, pizza and beer if anyone is willing.

Take a look at a few Youtube videos about brake pads and calipers. Eric the Car Guy has a few T4R-specific brake videos. I recently replaced all the pads and it was a piece of cake to do that and flush the fluid while I was at it. I did it right with new springs, pins, and lots of proper green grease, too.

I've never changed the calipers, but on Youtube, it looks easy. I think it sounds more intimidating than it really is. As long as you don't have excessive rust all over the place, it seems like a doable project.

I had never done brakes before 6 weeks ago. I ended up replacing the rotors and pads. Like the last post said, watched some good YouTube videos and you’ll be good Jimthecarguy has a few videos specifically on 4Runners. Watch enough of those, by your parts and have the phone ready to watch the video while you do it. You’ll be fine!

Also a good source of info is a repair manual.
Some of you guys have given me hell for even mentioning the Hanyes Repair Manual.
Lots of good stuff in it none the less.
Brakes are fairly straight forward, not hard if your mechanically inclined.

You can do it!
