2004 Heater control valve

I am trying to find the heater control valve on my 2004 4Runner with V6. Every post I read says it's on the fire wall but it is not on a 2004. I have very little heat in the cabin. I have flushed the cooling system and put new antifreeze in.I replaced the thermostat. I have checked the blend door and it works fine. I can see some control arms moving under the passenger side and they all seem to work. The hoses coming in and out of the heater core are hot the engine comes up to normal heat. I have cleaned the cabin temp sensor and disconnected the + battery cable to reset things. Nothing has helped. I would suspect the heater control valve but can't find it. Remember this is a 2004 with a V6.

There is no heater control valve on a 4th gen 4Runner from what I have seen, we stopped using them with the 3rd Gen.

I'm also having problems in my 4th gen with heat it works but it's not consistant will Ben arm then cold without me changing it it fluctuates up and down annoying

What do they use to control the amount of heat then? There has to be some way to control the amount of coolant that goes to the heater core. I also found where you can buy the valve on line I just don't know where to find it in the vehicle

Ok it is 3 degrees outside and I have little or not heat. I read more post about this problem and decided to clean the cabin temp sensor. It had some dust on it but not bad. Still did not help. One thing I did notice is when it is in the auto mode all it does is blow air on the floor outlets and it is just barley warm. Both heater hoses are hot. When I put it in manual mode and select heat from the middle and floor I get warmer air out of the left mid range vent and less out of the two center mid vents and cold air out of the right mid vent. I need help or my toes are going to get frostbit.
What ever has happened has happened all at once, I use to set the temp at 70 or 72 and it would roast you out now at 80 it does hardly anything.

Let there be heat!
After reading even more post about poor heat on 4Runners I decided to try one more thing. I did a complete flush of the coolant system with one of those kits you hook a hose to but still everything told me I was not getting heat from the heater core. I never did find the heater control vale and I guess they don't use one on this year. I am not sure how it works without one but that is the way it is. I bought some clear hose and fittings and hooked them up directly to the heater core, then I used the CLR and vinegar flush and it worked great. After I did the CLR for about 15 minutes I drained and flushed it out. then I filled it with vinegar and put a small drill powered pump in the line to circulate the vinegar for about 15 minutes. Then I hooked a garden hose up to the lower line and flushed it for 10 minutes. Filled the core up with coolant and put it all back together. Took it out for a test drive and I had heat! Started it up this morning and it was toasty warm when I went to work. YES!!!!
