2004 Lift Help

I just bought a 2004 4Runner and looking at putting a lift on it. Wanting to run 285/70/17

These are some ideas of what I have been thinking of but want to see what you guys recommend and what works and not.

Thinking about factory front with 5100 set at 2.5" and rear 1.5" spacer, and 1" body lift.
Will this work?

Or what about running OME 884

What is recommended
Do I need to change out rear shocks, or panhard? What about diff drop? Will these make it sit level? Is their other things I would need to change as well?

Thank you

Congratulations on the 4runner and welcome to the forum!

There is a wealth of suspension information here if you do some research. Here's a great place to start:

Thank you Matt

I did read through that with a lot of info. But my main questions is if I wanted to run 285/70/17 can I do that with the 5100 set at 2.5" and rear 1.5" spacer? Do you need to add body lift? Or is this not a good route to go and maybe should think about something else?

Thank you for any help
Kevin

You should be fine. You may just need to do some light trimming or push the front inner fender into the bumper itself to ensure you don't rub...as much. Your lift option will work with your tire size choice...I say go for it!

You should be able to get by without a body lift if you're fine with taking off the mudflaps and doing some light trimming. I'd recommend doing the lift and installing the tires. Then see if the situation warrants a bodylift.

A body mount chop may also be necessary once you start stuffing the tires but again, something you can figure out after the lift and tires. Wheel backspacing will also be a big factor on how much trimming you'll have to do if you're running aftermarket wheels.

Awesome thank you.

What about do I need to change out rear shocks, or panhard, and sway bar end link?

Is their some other things I need to look at?

If you have xreas then you will have to put in new rear shocks as the xreas is a cross linked system. Extended sway bar end link will afford a bit more flex in the rear but it's not necessary. Panhard bar won't need to be touched.
