Hello!
I am new to the forum, just registered today. I have been reading old post and trying to figure out what to do and was hoping perhaps someone could help point me in the right direction.
The CEL and VSC Trac Off lights all came on at the same time while I was driving 78MPH at 37% load. We have been driving cross country for 4 weeks and put behind us about 3500 miles.
I had the vehicle checked and they came out with the following :
P0430 Cat Efficency B2
494 RPM 192% Temp
78MPH 37.3% load
Clear codes
Rear 02 sensor is working
Stays close to other sensor
Could be weak Cat. Converter
Drivers side converter weakest. (He said operating at about 70-80%)
The CEL was off for about 500miles when it came back while doing about 35mph. The VSC Trac off light did not go away.
Gas mileage is good about 21,5 MPG.
Just arrived in LA California, don't have much money, and I am wondering if I should start saving for replacing the CAT Converter? Or if anybody know of a good shop in the area to diagnose more on my 2004 4Runner SR5 v6 2wd?
many thanks!
Andy.
