Has anyone had to replace their sunroof housing? My sunroof got stuck open and the dealership finally had to take everything apart to get it closed. They were going to charge me $700 just to permanently close it, and almost $3,000 to repair it back to working condition. The cable is broken and the whole housing needs to be replaced to repair it. I can't find it anywhere for less than $1,500 or so. Has anyone else been down that road?

Honestly... I'd just gut the Sunroof yourself and caulk the glass in place, remove the switch and never look at it again. I always tell people sunroofs are just time bombs waiting to suck your bank account dry...
MAYBE if you're lucky (our dealership hasn't had any luck) you can just find a whole sunroof from a salvaged vehicle or something...
