2004 T4R: Need Tailgate Window Regulator & Rotor

Hi guys,

I'm in need of a regulator and motor for the rear window of my 2004 T4R, it won't roll down and had it diagnosed. Anybody got one or have a junked one?

I'm in a similar boat with my 2006. The motor works fine but the regulator is rusted so bad that it no longer holds the glass on the passenger side. I can can get the widow to go down but have to use a second set of hands to help pull the window back up.

Has anyone replaced their regulator? PITA? Or easy swap?

There are two kinds of regulators, one easy to find, the other is incredibly hard to find.
My 2003 had the one without the cables, and was a 6 month search across the country to located a junked one..

Mine has the cables. I just got a parts quote form a locate Toyota dealer. $CAD $260 for the regulator and $824 for the motor.

My motor works but looks pretty rusty. My concern is if I take it out to assemble it to a new regulator it may not work after....

I'm just debating whether to bother fixing it or not and just live with a non-functioning window.

Same thing just happened to mine.
The passenger side rear glass slider mount (attached to the glass with 2 bolts) broke in half. Pulled the inside trim panel, etc... Both sides are badly corroded. Two man job to manually help the window back to the closed position using short bursts up with the key. Pulled the electrical connector to avoid moving the glass down.
Taking it to a glass shop next week for an opinion or quote but I'm already guessing I need the whole assembly.
Looking to possibly source the regulator assembly from the US and import it thru Michigan to save some $$.
