2005 4Runner Limited Factory Alarm Question. Insurance Related

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know off hand if my '05 4runner's factory alarm has engine kill/immobilizer? I'm asking b/c I want to get the anti-theft system discount on my insurance.

I'm 99% sure that most late model cars are gonna have that along with the fact that the key has a chip in it needed to start the car but I just wanted to see if you guys knew for sure.

Ok, nevermind this isn't even worth replying to. I had already requested this be added to my discounts with progress and I just got a reply from them and it only took $1.01 off my 6 month premium.
 
Yes, all 4th Gen 4Runners have the engine immobilizer - that goes along with the chip in the key. The Limited has a couple of additional alarm features, like honking the horn when a door is unlocked from the inside rather than with the outside key hole or the keyless entry. (It assumes the window was broken.)
 
You can add a Toyota VIP RS3200 system, or you can go aftermarket. The VIP system will do everything the Limited can do plus it adds a glass breakage sensor. It's possible to add the VIP to a Limited as well, but that's a lot of coin for just a glass sensor.
 
Toto, would you please be so kind as to advise me re the following: I have only the OEM alarm system, as far as I know; I'm the 3rd owner. My question is, can I install the RS3200 glass breakage sensor to the OEM system without first installing the RS3200 alarm system itself? I'm assuming that the 2007 4Runner Sport edition does not have the RS3200 installed as the "factory/OEM" alarm system. Please accept my thanx in advance.
