Im in the process of finding a 4runner that meets my requirements and I have test driven a few and am continuously on cars.com and autotrader.com to see any new listings. Since Im on these sites so often I see the same 4runners listed for weeks, so getting down to it I finally decided to give a few of them a try and not be so picky.
One in particular I test drove yesturday out of 5 I attempted to look at, 2 of the 5 sold that were listed, met my expectations but I had a few concerns. Carfax checked out clean but after looking at it I was questioning why it is still listed. Undercarriage looked fairly good minimal rust no leaks of fluids were noticed cv boots in good condition. Clean in and out for the most part. Under the hood I noticed the block had either been stained with mud or I was thinking maybe an antifreeze leak. Possibly just some mud spray from splashing around in some puddles nothing was caked up.
The truck had the running boards removed a spacer lift and viper alarm with automatic start. Normally I would run from any vehicle that has had prior mods and thats why I overlooked the truck online so often. In person the truck looked good other than the stained engine. It ran great smooth and comfortable as expected I did notice the lag in the acceleration under quick throttle pressure. Upon my explorations of this forum I have concluded that the accleration response is fairly normal bc of electronics. Anyway thanks if anybody takes the time to read these long paragraphs and respond.
Here is a link to the truck, tell me your opinions. Go for it or keep looking?
