Hello all, I hope to soon be a 4Runner owner and I am working on a deal for a 2005 model now. I went to look and drive the truck yesterday and might be making a deal today. The truck was in decent enough shape, but when I opened the hood, the engine was emitting a clicking noise from the top. I am guessing its valves being noisy? I've heard that its common on these engines, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Is this something to be warry off? should I walk from this deal? the truck has 105K and I can get it for $10.5K.
Also as a side question, I was looking in the cubbies in the back compartment on the sides of the truck. One had a jack and some tools (driver's side), but the one on the passenger side was empty. What should be in there?
One final question: I would have made the deal yesterday, but just as I was about done checking out the truck, I opened the sunroof and when I went to close it it wouldn't close (would close a small part of the way than make a loud click and open back up). I figure its off the track or something like that. I told them I wouldn't buy the truck without it being fixed or receiving a discount for the cost of the repair. How common of a problem is this? Whats the cost to have it fixed?
Thanks for your help in advance!
