2005 4runner

Hello all,

I am definitely maybe going to pick up my very first 2005 4Runner black tomorrow or this weekend. Other than making sure that everything is working(a/c, radio, all windows, lights, check engine bay, check for scratches/chips, price) what should I check out?

I plan to have dealer remove all dealer badges/stickers/ license plate frames and have them NOT wash the car. Also the sucker better have a full tank and properly inflated tires.

I might go to DIscount Tire on the way home to try to get credit for the tires and get some bfg's or nittos.

Thanks in advanced,
Ken

Then this weekend pick up a revtek lift and these(check my post on this thread):

Are you kinda sorta sure you'll be picking it up ;):

If you have optional equipment, make sure get all the components. Its a pain having to go back to the dealership to get stuff you should have been given when the keys were handed over. Oh yeah, make sure you get all the keys. 2 regular keys and alarm fobs and one grey key (valet key, can't open trunk or glove compartment)

By law the stealer has to deliver the vevicle with everything listed on the window sticker invoice. A full tank of gas is listed on that invoice.

uhhh, that doesn't stop them from "forgetting"

A friendly reminder does wonders and this is the best time to get whatever you want. You just bought a car from them and you will be receiving a survey in the mail about your experience at the dealership. If you give them bad marks, the dealership receives a black eye from Toyota (in terms of bonuses, incentives and such) so they will bend to meet your requests...

well it looks like I am going tomorrow sometime to pick up the Runna. If I like what the stealer says I will be going home in a black Runna.

The wait is over.....

Well, I pulled the trigger on Sun night and got my first 4Runner. It is a 2005 Black V8 SR5 4WD with grey interior. I traded up from a White 1998 Civic 4-dr EX. The power and torque difference is GINORMOUS. I went through dealer hell and a lot waiting to get this 4Runner on Sun. I have been waiting years to get a 4Runner and it finally paid off. Pics will come on the weekend.
Apparently V8 4WD SR5's are hard to come by in So. Cal. Had to do a lot of searching for the one I wanted.

I plan to get a lift soon and some new shoes and tires. I am thinking about downey's in the front and the rears. Or maybe go less expensive and get the revteks. I do not plan to do heavy off-roading for the duration of the 4Runner, but I do want to tackle the mild stuff eventually: Pismo, local trails, etc.

Mods to do this weekend:
1 debadge
2 Burger tray mod
3 Add Broadway mirror(Done)
4 Buy cargo net

Cant wait to get the lift!!

Great job. I mean unless you are going to go offroading in CA. Doesn't pay to have 4wd. But great choice on the rig.

As for the fact that you went from a civic to that, ear to ear grin dude

Enjoy
