Is the A/C indicator flashing? Might be the magnetic clutch relay. Toyota issued a TSB for this.

That happens to me every year down here in HOT Florida. Best solution I offer is to go to Advance Auto Parts and buy a can of refrigerant with the hose to charge your system. Attach the hose with the AC on Max Air and let it fill, mine usually only takes a 1/2 of the can. Save the rest but don't take the hose connector off.
