That is the only donwside I have found with it. It only shows the first ten characters of the song and the same with the artist.

Do you happen to know which Toyota XM unit they shipped( i.e. Prius, camary, Landcruiser, etc.)? Have you noticed any problems not having that R11 ground plug? I'm considering this install on my '05 Limited with Nav as well.

Let me know if you get an answer to this question, as I am wondering the same thing myself... (or --- if you can use it to integrate the Ipod into the 6dsk changer / JBL 10 spk without losing the changer...)

Anyone have a picture of the rear of the Nav unit which labels what each of the connectors are for? I've seen the one on oemvalue.com website but they leave off the labels on all of the connectors so that you will have to pay them $50.

Well I just finished installing the Toyota XM kit for a Solara in my 2005 Toyota 4Runner Limited with Factory Navigation. Just as Tom has posted, the XM works like a charm. Even though the AM button doesn't say AM-SAT like on other Toyota Factory Nav models it still works the same. Just press AM once for AM and Again for SAT1, SAT2 and SAT3. Each SAT channel has 6 presets for a total of 18 presets.

The XM wiring harnes plugs into your CD changer port on the rear of the Head Unit. So you can't have XM and a CD changer or Rear Seat Audio without a Y adapter.

I hope this helps anyone who is also considering this install.

This sounds very cool but I am a little confused. When I wanted to install the Toyota 6 disc console changer as an accessory, the dealer told me that there is no available port in the back of the navigation unit for the device. I looked at Coastaletech's website and they said that you could get an adapter that allows three devices to use the AUX port. Does anybody know if the port that the rear seat audio is plugged into is the correct port for this XM kit? I haven't looked behind the navigation unit of a 2005 yet.

I did have to remove the Rear Seat Audio plug from R14 on the below image. From talking to Eddie he said that he can order me a Y adapter so that I can use the Rear Seat Audio again. I don't think that I'll be able to get the XM on the rear audio though.

I was looking at Coastal Electronics iPod interface and came accross this video they showed. I thought that the y-adapter this product came with would allow the RSA to work along with the iPod interface.

I installed my XM unit in the right rear panel. There's a place under the bracket where it wedges in perfectly without the need for drilling holes. I routed the antenna around the subwoofer and through the right rear taillight. Then i just ran it up and along the outside of the weather stripping ( I figured the I didn't want to mess with the weather stripping and risk leaks). The antenna is mounted in the center rear of the roof.

The signal is execllent. No issues so far with regards to signal. I did loose my Rear Seat Audio as it plugs into the same R14 plug. I'm currently looking into a Y adapter. Toyota makes one for the CD changer, but the problem with that one is that the plug that connects to the cd changer is the larger molex type plug. I will need to find an adapter with three mini molex plugs.

irpete, besides having to disconnect the Rear Seat Audio connector from the back of the head unit, any other wiring oddities using the Solara XM kit? or was it just plug and play after that. any chance you have a pic to post of your antenna mount? it's ok if U don't. Thanks!
