2005 v6 sport chain or belt?

Getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2005 v6 4wd sport edition 4Runner is that year and model a timing chain or timing belt? I know my 07 is a chain wasn't sure about the 05!

Chain. I have 03 v6 and it is chain. You should be able to see the chain if you take the oil cap off and look into it from the driver's side.

144 thousand miles and they want 11,700 for it in Maryland too high??

Are you at a "stealer"ship???, 144k and almost $12k ehhh ... I'd probably be in the neighborhood of $10.5 especially in this area, there are a lot of 4Runner around, use that as leverage!

I paid 10.5 for the Yank at 135k. And shes a limited v8 4x4 to boot. Too high.

For reference I bought my 2004 Sport with 91k, 2 owners, for $13.5k back in 2013 from Passport BMW in Upper Marlboro MD

I seem to be having a hard time finding any 4th Gens with reasonable mileage (under 150k) and in good condition for anything less than $12k
