Just so you know, Your words made it sound like you were saying, I advise nobody to buy a 2006 4runner. Be careful what you say on a forum dedicated to 4runners. We are kind people and help others out as much as we know possible. If a bunch a 4runner addicts tell you to take it back, it's probably best to do it. We are trying to be nice and no offense but it appears like you are giving us the finger in trying to do so.
Not trying to be mean, just saying what i'm seeing. I'm sorry this runner wasn't a good one. Theres always a sour apple in the batch. You have 4runner experience. You should know this. Try another year, another generation.

That's a better deal for them than you but it sounds like you're committed to keeping the truck. I hope it works out because you'll hear a lot of "told you so's" if it doesn't.

Maybe before you purchased it, you should have taken it for a test drive. You can't condemn an entire line of cars because you got the screwy one.

She's a "girl" maaaan.... Sometimes, some girls just want to vent to a sympathetic ear, as where when a guy has problems, they want to solve them ASAP. Or as a nerd would put it, Female - Romulan (Emotional/Irrational), Male - Vulcan (Logical/Indifferent). Please see below for a glimpse into the female psyche.

Hate to say it, but yeah there is no way in heck that I would have gone with this vehicle. So many issues, so many things replaced, all in the first days of buying it. It is just screaming for her to return it and let these guys sit on it until it rots. I wish you the best of luck Lisa, but you should not have taken this vehicle, no matter what they do to it. It is just not worth your time, agony and annoyances.
This x2. I would have walked... There's nothing that dealer could do to fully rebuild my confidence in that particular vehicle, short of replacing the entire engine and drivetrain with brand new warrantied components. Even then, I'd be mulling it over pretty hard considering the same shady dealership/shop you've been dealing with so far would be the ones doing the work....

It should be about crummy previous owners. Why do you think the PO traded it in...because they didn't want to fix the problems.

Buying any vehicle with 122k miles on it is a gamble. The key to getting a good vehicle is MAINTENANCE. I don't care who makes the vehicle...if a vehicle has 122k miles on it and little or no preventative maintenance was done over it's lifetime...then there's going to be problems. My 05 4runner has over 250k miles...and it runs PERFECTLY. But I maintain it religiously. I expect to get at least another 100k maybe even 200k miles on it.
