2006 Headlights say 9005 for bulb and NOT H11...

I have the 2006 Sports Edition 4x4 V6 with the stock projector headlamps...and was looking for more a white light then stock. Well after searching the forum..it appears that most prefer the XD5 light bulbs.

I looked in my 2006 book and it says that my front bulbs are 9005/60 watt/type A

and on the forum people say its H11...

so which is it...the book or the forum?

EDIT...oh god...should read better...the High Beams are 9005 and the low beams have no description..which is what someone mentioned here on the forums...and then said they were H11

I tried the XD5 bulbs and wasn't all that impressed. I thought they were still a bit yellow compared to the others I've bought.

My favorites are the Razo Premium White Zero. Bought a few pair on ebay for like 10 bucks. A close second are the Luminics Titanium White.

Just my 2 cents. Of course, this is just a subjective opinion, and opinions vary.

Hmmm, you are saying that your 2006 truck uses 9005 bulbs for its projector headlights. My question is to the many here........doesn't the 03-05 models use the same bulb in thier headlamps?

Also, it puzzles me everytime I look at the front of my vehicle and see normal headlamps with projector type fog/driving lamps in my 2004 Runner!

the high beams would use the 9005s. it wouldn't be used in the projector headlamps.. not stock anyways.. the 9005 is a high beam bulb, and isn't used in the low beams..
