2006 NAV - Where is the antenna and wiring?

i took my 4runner in for service and asked if they could diagnose my nav issue, and they "repaired" one of the antenna wires, but it didnt do squat. so i wanted to see if i can find the antenna and check it out for myself.
i have the same issue as many, where the nav is just lost. when i look in the GPS info on the maintenance screen , i only see one sattelite being connected, so i dont know if this is a software glitch like the TSB states, or if this is a hardware issue...they told me if this didnt fix it then the whole unit needed to be replaced.

from what I understand, the antenna is located INSIDE the dashboard. You will have to take the unit out to get to it. Apparently there is a "shelf" toward the rear of where the unit goes. This is where you should find it. If not, follow the black cable (the antenna SHOULD be right there). To get it repaired via Toyota will cost an arm and a leg. I know you can get Toyota antennas on eBay, buy one, plug it in and see if that solves your problem. Hopefully is should. If not, return it. If a software glitch, you can get Toyota NAV DVDs on ebay as well. Either way, you have options. I doubt the NAV unit itself is faulty, but you never know.
