On my 4runner when we get in it first thing in the morning it kind of lags when you crank it. We have a brand new battery put in 2 days ago(under warranty) but still having the issue. It is only doing this in the morning. If we crank it throughout the day it does perfect. Any ideas? Thanks for the help. Also its a 2006 4.0 with about 166,000 miles. Had for 7 years and not a single issue since I've had it.

Mine has been noticeably slower to crank and then after not starting it for a couple days it only clicked a couple times first thing in the morning and then I turned the key and held it and it started to turn the motor over and started. I then switched it off and it did the auto crank and started right up like normal. The battery is getting full charge and it seems to be holding power okay but it has been in there about 4 years now. I just don't understand why it would not tumble over first thing and the once it starts I turn it off and it starts right back up like normal.

Same issue here. I go to start it and it will crank for a while. Once I kill it and try again it will start right up. I'm thinking maybe fuel prime issue? Not enough fuel getting primed, but the second try there's maybe enough? That or maybe a dirty MAF sensor, throttle body and iac.
