2007 4Runner price

Hi, I just bought a 2007 4Runner SR5 4WD V6. It has 17 inch alloy wheels, roof rack, spoiler, cloth seats.

The price i paid (before taxes, registration..etc.) was $29,716. This was $300 over dealer invoice. The dealer was the best dealer i've ever dealt with because of how nice he was and how he let me test drive the car as much as i wanted.

I also took advantage of low APR 2.9% financing over 60 months.

I know I didn't get the lowest price possible, but I know that i got a decent price. I could've gone to another dealer and saved a bit more money but from what i hear the other dealers in my area are all jerks. and with the low financing i didn't think it was that bad.

What do you guys think about that price for the car? I already bought it so there's no turning back and i really love the car but just wanted some feedback. (I purchased this car in the Bay Area in California).

IMO With 2.9% financing that would compensate in the long run even if you did pay a little more upfront. I am currently financed at 5.3%.(there were no promo offers for 2.9%) Look at this way let's say you got the purchase at below invoice but did not get the low interest rate, you'd probably break even. You basically pay now or pay later. You either pay more for the vehicle or more for the credit to finance the vehicle

On another note you rarely see a Toyota with Interest offers that low. It seems when you are shopping for American cars you can find these low rates all day long. Toyota has such a strong reputation they can easily find people who will still pay 5 and 6% interest rates to get into a Toyota product over anything else. I think it was Chevy offering 0% interest. I don't think you would ever see a Toyota Product with such an offering.

I think you got a good deal.
Mine 04sr5v64x4 was 32 back in the fall of 03 for the same truck.
Other than my bad deal I wonder what that says anything about the 4Runner?
Yours will depree one year in 3 months and I was 3 months early?
Makes me feel stupid wanting 20 for the truck now(it's for sale) when for 9 more............?
Good deal for you. How about some pix!

Was that 2.9% in lieu of a $2500 rebate? Cause if it was - you're might be getting screwed by about $800-1500 depending on the life of the loan and your down payment.

I just bought mine a few weeks ago and the dealer was offering either $2500 rebate or 0% financing, but not both. If I took the financing, I would end up paying more than $1400 more over the life of the loan. I said FU, took the rebate, paid cash for most of the 4R and financed the rest.

I just bought mine last Saturday for $34,500. That's with them taking my 2001 Honda Accord in trade that I still owed $8900 on (don't ask). MSRP on our rig was $36,718.

I used USAA for my financing, got 4.99% for 72 months; took advantage of Toyota's $2000 off, though, and that's what helped bring the price down. Still, to pay $2200 less than MSRP and have them take my trade (bye-bye negative equity!!!)...I'm more than happy. :)

I bought mine in August for $28,349.00 + tax , MSRP was just over $33,000..

07 SR5 V6
Moon Roof, Roof Rack, 3rd row seat, 17" wheels, tow hitch

I think you got a good deal! I really like the 4 runners..

I also think my dealer made a mistake on my trade in. It was a FWD v6 Torrent and they gave me $1000 more than what it was worth. I think they may have thought it was AWD rather than FWD.

I wonder if dealer invoice is the same for all dealers?

Yes, it is the same, but if you ask different dealers, you'll get different answers. When they're negotiating with you, they want "invoice price" to be as high as possible so you'll give them the money they want. The information at Edmunds or KBB is 100% accurate, although most Toyota dealers immediately add an "advertising fee" in the $500 ballpark. You never want to walk into a dealer and say "I'll give you $x over invoice." Instead, have an actual price in mind (based on what you learn at Edmunds/KBB) and negotiate from there.

I'd also agree with what has been said above. Always do the math to see which is better for your particular situation - the cash back or the special low finance rates. Usually the cash back is better, even if you're financing and you end up with the market rate from a bank or Toyota Financial. Definitely figure it out for yourself both ways and know which is better before going in to the dealer.
