This may sound weird, but Buick has been excellent in reliability for years!
I am surprise that Buick has not made a big deal, but both JD and Consumer Reports have rated Buick cars high for some time now. It's weird because Buick cars are basically GM cars, but somehow, they do better on surveys.

I had a Buick Regal "01" some time ago and I put over 100K on it before I sold it to my aunt and the darn thing never broke. My aunt by the way has over 155K and the only thing she has done to it (other then brakes and tires) is replace the fuel pump. 
Ive been in a few Buicks and they sure dont match up to Toyota quality. One good explanation Ive seen is from James Bragg (Fightingchance.com):Thai said:

Trust me, older people can be just as bitchy as a teenager! You know that "James Bragg argument" is also used by many Range Rover and Touareg owners who state that they are more particular than other owners about their high-end vehicle. Well, we all know what FOS statement that is!:FOS: I would not discount Buick too much...they have come out with fairly nice designs lately. Caddy is doing well too. I cannot stand Lincoln at all! Ford is totally mismarketing Lincoln these days with their recent designs IMHO. They are apparently going after old farts with their horrible retro designs instead of going after the 50 cent rapper crowd like what Caddy is doing.

i don't know how accurate it should be. but when i looked at the top 3 ranking of each class. "entry premium" they stated Infiniti I35???? a typo? and it is based on 2004-2007, so a few of the newer 2006/07 model sure don't get enough rating?
how do they rate the vehicle actually? is it base on they consumer survey after they bought their new car? do the rating based on short term reliability or one time survey or based on long term reliability, just curious.
i am surprised that toyota Sienna don't even in top 3 ranking in the van category.

All I can say is in 2001 when I wen't to buy a Toyota Camry the dealership also sold Buick and the Buick Regal was aprox $ 3,000.00 less than the Camry so I took a chance on the Buick and it paid off for me with no problems at all and many miles. It was a great car for me.

The Oldsmobile Bravada and Buick Rainier are the same SUV. GM just moved it over to Buick when they killed Olds. It would be interesting to see the rest of the list. Where do the Chevy & GMC versions rank? Mechanicaly they should all be for the most part identical, although I think I remember GM might have offered a version of the Olds/Buick with a V8.

My parents always buy Buick Centuries and come to think of it,never really have any problems with any of them,and they usually run them up over 100K. The one thing that Buick's do not beat Toyota at is resale value.My daughter has a 98 Camry with 107K and my parents have a 01' Century with 103K and the Camry is worth more.They both cost about the same new though !!!

I was talking to my dad about the the Buick reliability study over breakfast on Sunday. He is 87 years old, and has a 4-year old Buick LeSabre. He frequently stops at green lights, and rarely gets within 10 mph of the speed limit. Not exactly too tough on the car, in other words. He was pretty pleased with the results of the study, but agreed that the driving style probably had a lot to do with the results. He has been very happy with his Buick, and I love the fact he has OnStar in his car. And his Buicks have never left him broken down on the side of the road. I would have tried to put him in a Camry (like mine) or an Avalon, but he fought in the Pacific Theater in WWII, and I think he would sooner walk than drive a Japanese car. I had to fib to him and tell him my T4R was built in Texas to stay in the will.
