2007 Sport needs new tires. Any suggestions?

I've had a couple of buddies w/ the Nittos now...and NONE of them ever put a second set on their rigs. They all said the same thing......they wore out VERY fast, and just were not well made tires when compared to some of the others out there. My bro-in-law has a set on his Tacoma and HATES them.

The Duratrac looks very interesting, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of reveiws on it. Anyone used or currently using this tire? If so how does it work in mud? Thanks.

There are a few of us with them on this site and I don't think anyone has really gotten into a lot of mud.

I'd been in it a little mud and I think they clean out pretty well. It's not quite up to standard of a full on MT, but the I think the road manners of the Duratrac combined with the offroad ability make this a very nice tire.

Thanks for the help everyone, I got a set of Toyo A/T Open Country's at 265/70/R17. I wanted the 65's but they were on backorder. I don't care that I'm driving like 1mph faster than my speedometer reads. With the storm that slammed the east coast on the 20th I was glad to get them that morning as they were promptly snow tested the next day and performed beautifully. The Revo 2's were my first choice but apparently they're on a 90-day backorder from Bridgestone. :wow:

Still, the Toyo has a very aggressive tread pattern, different than the ones I had on my Grand Cherokee a few years ago. I find them quieter than the Dunlop Grandtreks too. I'm happy with them so even though I've only had them for 8 days I'll add my recommendation to the list for the Open Country tire.

If you want an aggressive tread or do some off-roading, etc.., I have Good Year Silent Armors that I have been very impressed with on my '07.

Depends on where you live, what you do, and how much snow you actually get.

Realize this is from awhile back - how are those GY silent armors working? I have an 07 sport and get into slick muddy road to cabin spring and fall and snow in winter. Usually just chain up when elk hunting as the snow deeper. Ran BFG T/A KO's on last vehicle but only avail in E for this size.

I am also trying to decide, Silent Armour, Revo or Destination A/T, for primaraly highway use. Mountains to the sea shore. probably 265/70/17 since it is 99% highway.
