2007 T4R Seat Warmers - how well do yours work?

Not sure if this is the right place to discuss, but I did do a "heated seats" search and didn't find very much to this effect.

I have 2007 Limited V6 and have been dissapointed with the seat warmers [especially when it's below -5c].

By contrast:
- In a 2007 VW Rabbit w. 5-stage seat warmers the 2/5 setting on the VW was as warm as 5/5 in my T4R.
- In a 2002 Volvo S60 with 2-stage warmers, 1/2 is about the same as the T4R's 5/5.

So .. I'm wondering if this is a problem endemic to 4Runners or whether all of you actually have toasty butts and backs and I'm dealing with a faulty heating coil. I'm looking for feedback in case other people have experienced the same thing before I take it back to the dealer. Thanks in advance.

My T4Rdoes not have the heated seats, but the GX470 does (I do not think they are any different from T4R Limited). They work great. My other car was an Infinity I30, and the GX seats heat up faster and better.

I have an 07 limited and am dissapointed by mine...........they heat up faster than the actual heat but are not very hot..........i had an 03 GTI that would burn my ass it was sooo hot.

Mine work fine for me. At the highest setting they are too hot, so we run them in the middle.

Never had to crank them up to the highest setting. Usually somewhere in the middle and they're fine. My Camry's gets hot fast, but it only has one setting, on or off. But in comparison, the 4Runner's would be a tad weaker than my Camry's.

I think they're a little slow to warm up, but once they do, the max setting is usually too hot for me. I keep it set in the middle or just a bit higher.

The heated seats on my 2005 only get lukewarm. I have it on the max setting and the seats never get too hot. The heated seats in my parents GX470 don't seem to get as warm as my 4Runner. In an Acura or BMW, you have to worry about burning yourself the seats get so hot!

When I showed the service manager at the dealership the Rostro seat heaters I installed, he asked how well they worked (they work fine, by the way). He explained that he's had lots of complaints about the seat heaters from owners that have leather seats. The only reason he could think of was that perhaps the leather was thick enough to act almost like insulation to prevent some of the heat from getting through.

I've never owned a vehicle with leather seats, so I couldn't respond. But it sounded like a reasonable possibility.
