2008 Factory Rebate ???

I was looking at the Atlanta AJC today for car prices as I am looking for a new 4Runner. Anyway, for Friday, January 11th, Marietta Toyota had a ad that said "Toyota Factory Rebate $1,500" for the 4Runner.

Does anyone know if Toyota has started a rebate for the 2008's? Is it for the whole country or just the southeast? It may be time for me to move on a deal, if that is true.

Toyota posts information about current rebates on their Web site. On the home page, click "Find Local Specials" under the Shopping Tools in the lower-left corner.

Perhaps you could check Toyota.com for latest specials for your zip code (find 4Runner, then click 'special offers' to the left).

Where I live the rebate is $1,000 until 2/4/2008, extended from the same rebate that started on 11/1/2007 and ended on 1/2/2008.

I'd be very envious of a $1,500 offer...:D

Just checked Toyota.com and put in my zip code. I went to two dealers. they both had this:

"New 2008 4Runner - $1,500 Cash Back"

Both dealers also had $2,500 for new 2007's, if there are any left. I guess cash back, is the same thing as a rebate? I knew you guys could help me with this. Thanks.

When I purchased my leftover 2004 4Runner the dealer had marked it down almost $3K.
Then they subtracted the Toyota Cash Back Rebate available at that time ($750) on top of the $3K mark down.

Might want to read the "fine print" concerning the 2007s.

If you get an 07 you should ask for more than $2500, because that's how much I got back on my brand new 07 about 5 months ago, plus with the credit union, we got it for about $7,000 less than MSRP.

If the dealer wants to get rid of it enough they will go below invoice, just so they can get rid of it and not have to paythe monthly fees on it anymore. When I test drove one (with no intention of buying it at dealer price) he was offering me $3,000 off the sticker, which was about $400-500 below invoice.

New 2007 4Runner - $2,500 Cash Back

I am not interested in a 2007, I want the side and curtain airbags that come standard in the 2008. I doubt they would even have a 2007. The rebate last November was $2000, so $2500 is not a big difference.

Yes, I understand that, I heard you the first time lol. I was simply telling you that you can get much more than 2,500 if you WERE interested in an 07. But since you aren't, then it doesn't really matter how much they will give back for an 07 now does it? But no one would know you didn't want an 07 since you asked questions about both 08 and 07 4runners.
