my 2008 has a high idle. about 1200 rpm at start up in warm weather.. is this normal? seems high and is annoying when trying to back out of the drive. thanks for any useful comments.

Doesn't matter what the temperature outside is, if the engine is "cold" or below operating temperature, it's going to idle high upon start up, that's normal.

Like NJ states, if the sensor sayes the engine is cold, it will idle high and if temp outside is warm, it will come down quicker anyway.

On a side note, it's best to give you motor time to warm up to get the fluid time to circulate in there. It will make the motor last longer and less wear and tear on inner parts.

thanks for the replies. yes, i believe it has always done this. had it a year but the wife drives it mostly. until recently when i got in it. and yes, i wish i could let it sit and wait for it to warm up. but when the wife and kids jump in it to go to school, that's unrealistic..:(
