2008 V8 stock air intake question

Hey guys,

I bought a stock air intake to replace the CAI currently on my 2008 4Runner. Since I have never seen one in the flesh, I was comparing pictures online. I noticed the one I bought doesnt have the rounded cup piece that screws onto the end of the airbox, lower section. Does this matter? Images for reference, mine top, picture from internet bottom. Notice the rounded plastic piece that seems to screw on where mine is missing?

The purpose of that piece is so that the engine breaths air from outside the engine compartment. Depending where you are, the air outside will be much cooler than the air in the engine bay.

Without it, worse case, the air your engine is taking in will be hot, which is less dense. The fuel injection system will compensate by injecting less fuel, thereby reducing your max horsepower.

So ... not optimal, but you won't break anything.
