2009 4runner Grinding in 4x4

I have an 09 4runner. When I put it in 4 high or 4 low I sometimes hear some sort of grinding noise when climbing steeper hills. It sounds like it's coming from the transfer case. I don't feel any performance changes but it's just wierd this noise. Anybody else experience this?

I have a feeling thats not a grinding noise, I would guess that's your taction control doing it's magic, it tends to make pretty intense sounds. It should sound more like its coming from the engine bay tho. VSC can sound like that too but if your in 4x4 high/low with center diff lock then that system is deactivated.

VSC is Vehicle Stability Control. And the grinding noises is most definitely your traction control. I used mine yesterday in the snow and it did that every time my wheels spun. You should see a little light come on toward the right of your dash that shows a car slipping down a windy path. When VSC kicks in you will hear a beep but when traction control kicks in, you will hear the grinding noises and you might feel a little grinding in the gas pedal.

Anybody have any loss of power due to the peddle recall fixing?
