2009 Limited interior rattle/vibration

I know this is like asking the group to find a needle in a haystack without giving them access to th haystack, but I thought I'd ask before doing anything else more drastic first

2009 Limited 4x4.. about a month ago developed what I would call a vibration or a really fast ticking rattle that sounds to be coming from the far right side of the passenger dash or potentially the door panel. It only happens from about 25mph to 50mph. I have tried the easy culprits.. knobs, latches, speaker grills, glove box lid... nothing. It happens with the passenger window open or shut. I have tried the moonroof, the sunglass holder, the center console stuff... nothing. It's driving me batty and I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this? I'm pretty sure it's coming from the interior and not outside or the engine bay.

Next step I guess is to ride with someone else driving for an extended period of time while I try and stick my head under the dash and see if I can tell where it's coming from better... ugh!

Check your wheel well and your undercarriage. I had a sound similar to what you described coming from the back which I could have sworn was from outside. Turns out it was the latch on my rear seats which locks them upright. It's really hard to tell where it's coming from so I wouldn't rule out the exterior.

After spending about 3 weeks trying to track this noise down and having people tell me to get over it, turn the radio up, etc... it turned out to be a loose mudflap on the passenger side. Zipped the screws down tighter and the noise is totally gone!

Now to get rid of the rear seats squeeking..

I live on a low maintenance gravel road and it has certainly made every rattle in my truck come out over the last year.

Glad to hear you found the problem. For the back seat squeak, wrap the "U" bolt that's attached to the frame with a single layer of electrical tape all the way around.
