2003 V6 with 190k and I have a small leak at the bottom right side. Planning on replacing it with an all aluminum radiator from Napa auto parts. I don't trust the OEM radiators.
200k+ miles 4th gens have you replaced your radiator?

All aluminum radiators are great but I sure hope that you get anywhere near 190,000 out of the new one, but I would doubt you will!

I do trust OEM parts and I always request them when replacing parts. I just don't trust Toyota's OEM radiators especially when they fail on some vehicles with less then 100k miles on them.

Mine "clogged" (according to stealership) at 113k miles and started intermittently overheating (side note... its really odd to overheat a vehicle when its 20 degrees out and dumping snow... at least it was for this CA native). Anyway, replaced the T-Stat, Rad & Cap with OEM from stealership.

I am at 285K and planning to replace the OEM radiator with a Denso even though the OEM is running fine with no leaks since I am doing a long overlanding trip and don't want to worry about it. Besides the radiator and the hoses, what else did you guys replace while you were at it? Thanks!
I'm at 150,000 miles SR5 2005 V6 with OEM radiator and WP. Amazing in 15 years never a check engine code or any code thrown.
Scotty Kilmer says the AM radiators from China are fine and costs are $100 or less. I like Denso personally (from Amazon) - if I ever need one. :bathbaby:
I check my overflow tank level at least once a week. It's always at the same level - which is what you want.
If it loses coolant it could be HG (internal) or other. Don't want HG

Previous owner replaced the radiator on mine around 140k miles (not sure for what reason), car has 160k miles now. Granted I don't know all the quirks of 4th Gen 4R yet, but if they're prone to mixing coolant and transmission fluid, it might not be a bad idea to have it replaced. I'd personally go with OEM, not necessarily from dealer, but OEM supplier. At least you know it's good for 100k miles. Mishimoto might be overkill unless you're doing something with your truck that generates a lot of heat.
That has nothing to do with radiator replacement. You replace it because:
1. it's damaged/leaking
2. it mixed coolant with transmission fluid
3. you don't want #2 to happen
It's not going to magically lose its cooling efficiency.

To those who have replaced their original OEM radiator were there any markings/brand name/logos that made you sure it was the original OEM radiator?
I know some may have own their T4R since new and therefore you know for sure it was the OEM, but what I looking for in an answer is the markings/brand name/logos etc. on the radiator.

I replaced mine as mostly preventative maintenance/old at 200k.

I'm 99% sure mine was factory, no records in Carfax or ToyotaCare that it had been replaced and the original owner was a cheapskate on maintenance. No visible TOYOTA markings on the radiator, unlike the water pump which had TOYOTA cast into it.

Figured I’d leave my .02.
I had my radiator fail (at 0530 while driving to work) at approximately 180k/185k. Had it replaced at Mr. Tire that morning (waited in the parking lot for them to open. Fortunately I was able to pull right off the highway and into a gas station. Bought some coolant but watched as it flowed right out of the radiator.
Can’t remember how much it cost, prob 3-600, it was about a year and a half ago, right after my rear O2 sensor went out on me (and before that a stick valve flooded the engine while 3 states away driving to vacation, haha).
Love this car, but now I try to stay a little closer to home. Got a mini van for the longer trips with the family! Haha

Just had my timing belt done again at 195k. While removing the fan, it slipped and nicked the radiator causing a leak, so I got a new radiator. The shop was going to cover the total cost of the new one (parts + labor) but I split it with them. They've been very good to me over the years (not charging me for some services and whatnot), and I figure ~200k was time for a new one anyway.

I changed mine at 190K, had a slow leak where the plastic meets the aluminum. Bought a Denso from autozone, it was a perfect match and went in like a charm.
