2010 4Runner/GX

As a GX owner, all I can say is WTF !!!! Lexus better not have 3rd row seats dangling in there like that.....The 5.7 belongs in there for sure, and make it a bit longer not shorter !!! That looks alot like the current GX, maybe they stuck in the larger engine to test it out....the 5 lug wheels confuse me though !!!

I noticed:
2) The exhaust is on the left side... (is there a reason they should change it?)

Maybe it's powered by the same 5.7L V8 available on the new Land Cruiser and LX570. The tail pipe for both the LC and LX are on the left side as well.

a 5.0L with about 325-335hp would be nice though...or a nice 3.5L V6 turbo diesel with about 250-300hp and 400+ft-lb of torque...one can dream, eh?

5L out of the IS-F 2UR-GSE engine? If Toyota sticks that in the 4Runner/GX, they need to tune it for trucks. Both peak horse power and torque are at higher revs(6600, 5200 respectively) in the IS-F. The 4.7L V8 peaks HP at 5400 and torque at 3400.

The only part that isn't covered is a front fender and camera dude didn't get shot of it. What kind paparazzi is that?

im not quite sure why everyone is getting all interested in these pics because we know the sheetmetal is going to be much more feminine than before. READ: rav4, highlander, Land Cruiser.

As much as i would like to think the new 4Runner is in testing... i am afraid someone might have the wrong info. I am almost certain that is the new 2008LandCruiser, not the 4Runner. I am sure this was an early production unit they are just using for testing. I sold my 03 in for a new Tundra 5.7.. the truck rocks but i miss my 4Runner soooooo much... so i am waiting for the 4Runner and then i will trade in the truck... and i am really hoping there WILL be a new 4Runner.

Compare what you can see (the few details we can be certain about) with the new LandCruiser and you wil see what i mean.

The '08 LC has already been shown and I don't think they'd still be testing a new LC in that guise this close to release.

Fully aware of that (and seriously thinking of getting one.. but $67K.. ouch!) Again, look at the two photos.. you will see it is a new 08 LC. We don't really know when the photo was taken so it could be from a few months ago. Compare the the side windows and frames, look at the bumper shapes and features, look at the back window and the wheel arches.

It is possible this is an early production unit (tail lights suggest that are doing some sort of testing and really don't want the public to see a non-production level car... but it is still certianly useful for testing. Or it is just a long distance test car that has been driving around for 4 months trying to get as many miles on it as possible.. can't jsut swap that out for a production unit.

Whatever it is, it does have a solid rear axle. So, it is probably not too wimpy or soccermom'ish.

I can see your point. The front fender and the rearview mirror are quite similar.

Thanks for the photo link. After looking at the linked photo, I totally agree. The rear bumper is enough to give it away. The position of everything else is in proportion (license plate, etc.).
No doubt a spy shot preceding the official photo releases.

Think about this one, guys...

If it was a TOYOTA, why would it have MICHIGAN MANUFACTURER plates on it? Toyota's headquarters are in Torrance, CA, not in Michigan.

Also, that picture of the Mountaineer is spot-on. The windows are identical, the rear wiper is identical, the spot for the hitch receiver embedded in the bumper is exactly right, too.

Toyota's North American Technical Center HQ is in Ann Arbor, MI.

I've seen the tall Toyota building in Torrance. I think that's just office space. The building is located in close proximity to the Nissan building.

huh? I think you missed something.. no photo's of a Moutaineer... Both are 2008 LandCruisers... so yes, they match.

I am not sure i have ever seen anything except for Michigan Manufacturer plates... just figured everyone had an office in MI so they use them... would have looked funny if it has JAPAN MANUFACTURER plates :D

Oh... and the photos of the LandCruiser in Aust. had OR plates on it... go figured.
