2010 4Runner Limited noise above spare tire

Can some one help me with my problem? I went out into my garage @ 4:30 this morning to put my boots on to go to work when I heard what sounded like a mini air compressor . I cralled under my 4Runner and the sound was coming from a black box just above the spare tire. This noise continued for about 20 min. can some one tell me what this would be!!

I think that was posted in the 5th gen forum. I believe it is something with the fuel pump and is normal
