FORD TAKES TRUCK LEADERSHIP OFF-ROAD WITH NEW F-150 SVT RAPTOR PERFORMANCE PICKUP TRUCK

Hmmm, if i was in the market for a fullsize truck, then it will be a tough choice between this F150 Raptor, Dodge PowerWagon, and Hummer H3T (not a fullsize, but have similar off-road intentions).

With gas prices going up and down and poor economy, i am not sure if the Raptor (like PowerWagon and possibly H3T) will sell well. But, it's a good looking truck. :)

Wow! Impressive features and hardware set. I prefer the old body style more. What I don't like is Ford half @$$ed the redesign taking the same truck and just slapped a new hood and fenders on it. Just not feeling that whole Edge front end. Those CV angles look really severe, only time will tell if those angles are ok.

I agree Thai, the new Ram seems interesting with coils in the back getting away from the traditional pickup truck setup.

Wow! That is pretty impressive... That truck w/ a little TD in the 450ft/lb of torque range and I'd have to have one:zoom:

depending on the weight and if front and rear lockers are available like the power wagon I can't decide. I hate the fact we are forced to automatic these days.

No front locker. And i am not sure if the traction control will work at the same time as the rear locker (aka like the FJ Cruiser and '09 4runner Trail Ed.).

you know land rover defenders arent even offered with auto's so there not forcing anyone, (97 was a 1 time gig for auto)

this truck sucks

How so? I am sure that you have much to offer in this discussion. Tell us more please.

WTF are you talking about??!! What does auto tranny have to do with traction control and locker except that Defender axles can't even handle stress of a locker????:bash:

I was saying that the defender isnt giving into this all automatic craze, not trying to get at anything else there.

This truck is like one man opinion, its like when someone upgrades there streetcar to make it faster and put a body kit on it, if he goes to sell it he really limits the number of potential buyers. What if some wanted to put a 6 in OME lift on it and put 37's on it with 4.75 gears them buying that truck as a start is useless. That truck is peaked out and really cant be modded anymore. You would have to want whats on there to buy it. just my .02

Hmmm, traction control and locker are somehow an "automatic craze"?? BTW, Defender overseas has optional traction control...so, isn't it in the same boat? It is just that LR axles are just too weak to handle a locker.

Well, if someone who wants 37" tires and 6in lift, then he/she would not buy one. Simple. No need to whine about it. This truck is better off-road than anything LR has to offer...whine about that!
