The fronts are super easy to do on your own. And you can get a decent set of pads for WAY cheaper. The rear can't be much harder.

Why not give it a shot on your own?

Are you sure you need to replace the rear pads? Driving in reverse to work often lol. Seriously, my 2010 tundras rear pads have plenty left, and I drive and brake pretty aggressive. Only replaced the front mid lat year, a little over 250$

my local dealer in VA Beach is running a front brake special for 94.95 on front brake pads, I'd call around and get a few different quotes and bring them back to the dealer to price match. worst they can say is no

Are you sure you need to replace the rear pads? Driving in reverse to work often lol. Seriously, my 2010 tundras rear pads have plenty left, and I drive and brake pretty aggressive. Only replaced the front mid lat year, a little over 250$

not sure , but dealer recommended at pa state inspection. I only have 45000 miles

One of my friends with a 4runner told me his original rear pads wore faster than his original front pads, he said it was probably from the traction control kicking in more often at the rear, which seems to make sense if you think about it.

I agree with other's OP, DIY, it wouldn't cost you more than 200 bucks in parts and tools (if you have absolutely no tools, lol).

I agree it shouldn't be hard to do yourself.

Lots of pad options too...no need to bleed the brake lines, etc...why you're at it...change the oil too! :tape2:

As I understand there is few steps you have to follow ion order to change oil. Like for example removing skid plates.

My Limited had 8k on it when I got it and had to replace the front rotors / pads along with a general greasing on rear and that ran me $550 @40k miles. I looked into doing myself since I have done many disc brakes in my day. If you use all original OEM parts you will find the price is about the same with shipping and tax. If you try using non-OEM parts you can get it down some, but not by much.

The biggest problem you run into is the limited number of after market cheap options for toyota in general. Hence why maintenance is generally cheaper on a American card. Tons of cheap parts you can get. The good news is that the OEM parts tend to last longer so you do get what you pay for.
